Does anyone know when a Debian package will be available?

Personally I do not, sorry....

I do not use Debian on a regular basis, so I could not really maintain a .deb file (Sourcefoge compile farm does have a i386 Woody box I use for testing from time to time, but it is too unreliable to my taste for serious maintenance work). Debian package are pretty simple things though (you do not have to trust me - have a look at the Debian New Maintainers' Guide instead).

This said, since the (very good) debian packaging system was made to be as uninvasive as possible, I would be more than happy to include debian/ related files in the base source package, provided that someone from the debian crowd self-promotes him/herself as an official maintainer for the package and provides them.

I could take maintainence of adesklets, but I have one question. Is it planned to make some big tarball of all desklets?
Packaging every desklet separately would be real pain.

Thanks for the offer! I would be really happy if you did. Just contact-me by email (syfou@users.sourceforge.net) whenever you feel like it.

Well, this is already covered by this topic. I will not explain longer here because it is not really needed. Feel free to take part in the discussion. Regards,

I'll write you probably since I have some concerns with regard to installation infrastructure ;)

I'll take a part in discussion when main package will be ready.

Thanks to the work on fenio, unstable debian users now can install adesklets automatically:

Code:

apt-get install adesklets

A big thanks to him!

unstable users? :D sorry had to do it.

Thanks fenio...the more distros we get adesklets into, the more user base we have to help out with desklets and such.
