Hi cs-cam,

nice idea, not having to look for the latest packages on the net. As I am using gentoo, I would be interested in the latest packages from packages.gentoo.org. Is it possible to get the gentoo-news instead of the arch-linux ones?

Quite possible. These days AUR generates an RSS feed which can be used in the newsfeed desklet which makes aurfeed mostly redundant. Gentoo has the same features, just pick your arch at this page and pass the URL of the feed you want (simple, so you don't get HTML crap with it) to newsfeed and it should do the same thing.

Well, not what I expected to get, but a perfect solution! Many thanx for that one...
Only issue: I cannot find the settings for background and borders, and I want to use the desklet without both of them --> completely transparent.
Maybe I should switch to the newsfeed-thread for that question
