I am not sure what you are referring to when you say that you
saved the desktop configuration, but I will answer to my best
understanding.
adesklets is completely orthogonal from any window manager
(fluxbox, wmaker, nautilus, etc.), and session preservation
is automated (i.e. there is no manual way to save a session,
this occurs as needed by the interactive use of the context
menus of the various desklets). All you need to do on a new X
session is to call the
adesklets command
as is from one of your session initialisation
script, and it will (re)start all the desklets as needed in
their last positions, as explained in the
documentation
(see chapter 4, Using adesklets). Killing remaining but now
defunc desklets is also taken care of by this single
command.
It is possible I failed to understand you. If the previous
explanation did not help (I think it should), please provide
me with snipsets on how you invoked things from your X
session startup scripts. I casually use wmaker from time to
time, and I have no special problems with adesklets under it.
