Hi! i successfully installed adeklets and i'm runing yab-0.0.2.
I want to run my adeklets at startup of window maker, so i save the desktop configuration when i exit the wm, and when i execute wmaker again i can see de adesklets process runing with the ps command, but i don't know where de adesklet is, i have to kill the process and execute the adesklets command to see it., i would appreciate any advice.

I am not sure what you are referring to when you say that you saved the desktop configuration, but I will answer to my best understanding.

adesklets is completely orthogonal from any window manager (fluxbox, wmaker, nautilus, etc.), and session preservation is automated (i.e. there is no manual way to save a session, this occurs as needed by the interactive use of the context menus of the various desklets). All you need to do on a new X session is to call the adesklets command as is from one of your session initialisation script, and it will (re)start all the desklets as needed in their last positions, as explained in the documentation (see chapter 4, Using adesklets). Killing remaining but now defunc desklets is also taken care of by this single command.

It is possible I failed to understand you. If the previous explanation did not help (I think it should), please provide me with snipsets on how you invoked things from your X session startup scripts. I casually use wmaker from time to time, and I have no special problems with adesklets under it. Regards,

I have similar problem to quicoju's. I'm using fluxbox and adesklets 0.4.8. The thing is about yab or modubar hanging from time to time after clicking one of its icons. I can recall this behaviour by intentionally clicking couple of times in little delays on one icon that runs small application, e.g. urxvt. Hanging means freezing during fading in/out and still existing in processes list or disappearing and quiting desklet.
It also sometimes happens that Calendar desklet doesn't show up on desktop after logging in, although it still listed in running processes. I think that the reason for this case could be that in the .xsession script, apart from having to load adesklets, also runs fbsetbg app to set wallpaper (it's normal for fluxboxers). This issue is very similar to quicoju's one.

Anyway, both problems are quite annoying, bu the former is really bad one: it occurs in about every 10 clicks in yab...

I do not think there is anything in common between this issues. But I agree this would need to be examined too -- I was unable to reproduce it so far. What I would need first is some commented strace from the offending python process; please post them in the yab or calendar threads as appropriate, not here. Regards,

To be honest I don't know how to get strace you mentioned... I was actually wondering how to get debug data from desklets, so how do I do that?

Edit: OK, now I know. Will post in proper threads as you suggested.
