Sourceforge no longer keeps invisible files for more than a
few weeks, unless they are still downloaded; if you want
older releases, feel very free to use the
public code
repository: versions are all tagged, making easy to go
back to any of them.
As for documentation, there was a packaging error, making the
textual INSTALL being blank in the 0.4.12 release. The
English info manual under doc/ contains the original
information, as well as the htmlized documentation,
available
online or as a
separate download; that explains why I did not publish
yet another release for such a discrepancy -- I agree it was
somewhat lenient by GNU standards.
As for the rest, it is
really
too vague for me to help; I don't know the platform, the
window manager, nor the exact circumstances, only that you
ran until recently a six months old (half the project
development time) release and that after an upgrade, things
"didn't work" anymore. Yours,
