You know the XMMS Root Visualization Plugin ?

It would be nice to have a similar adesklets' desklet. To my astonishment, there were no easy way to get the FFT samples out of XMMS to Python from libxmms... So I already wrote all the low-level access routines and packaged it:

xmms_freq-0.0.1.tar.bz2

There is a test/test.py curses-based demo script included.

Anyone?
