I was wondering if anyone was thinking of writing a yab-like taskbar/pager desklet? Something that showed current windows and a desktop pager as icons next to the yab bar.

If not, I guess it's time to learn python :) Any suggestions on where to get info on how to grab windows and icons from the current window manager?

It doesn't seems like it, but that's a though one: not trivial at all to do well... Ever heard of PyPanel? It does a swell job at it. Maybe it will fit your needs... Or maybe you will want to use it as a base for your own adesklets panel, who knows? :-)
